Junior Varsity Fall at Berrien Springs 20-0, Falls to 0-2

   The words in the locker room are the same for 2010: It's a new day for the Hartford Indian Junior Varsity program. Yes, this Junior Varsity program. A program that hasn't had a winning record in almost a decade.
   But a new day dawns on this years team and with a mixture of both sophomore experience and youthful freshman talent, this years Junior Varsity team could surprise plenty of people and earn the respect of the entire conference.
   Before the season has even started, three sophomore members of the Indian Junior Varsity squad from 2009 have been called up to the Varsity squad. Zeke Calvillo, Tony Kucharski and Jimmy Mullins have been moved up, leaving the Indian Junior Varsity squad small at 15 players strong.
   This season, six sophomores will be on the Junior Varsity squad, including running back and safety David Mireles, center and defensive tackle Josh Najacht, running back and middle linebacker Justin Wegner, guard and defensive end Jose Barajas and Jacob Rodriguez and wide receiver and defensive back Brandon Andrews.
   The incoming freshman class has eight players on the team, including quarterback and defensive back Lucas Traver, running back and defensive back Casper Aviles, tackle and middle linebacker Jacinto Arreola, offensive and defensive tackle Sebastian Chavez, tight end and outside linebackers Timothy Spires and Alex Kimp and wide receiver and defensive backs Roy Brown-Diaz and Aaron Little.
   The Indians will be under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Galvan, with assistance from Brad Manning.
